Like every year, a new edition of the Covorul dorului fair was held at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History. The event included the vernnissage of the exhibition “Scoarța de Căușeni - tezaur de culoare și simbol”, which will be held from December 15, 2019 to January 31, 2020. The guests will have the opportunity to get acquainted with exhibits from the heritage of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, the National Museum of History of Moldova, the Regional Museum of History and Ethnography from Causeni, the Museum of Ethnography from the village of Cania, Cantemir District, the House-Museum of Alexei Mateevici from the village of Zaim, Causeni district. Products made by artisans from other regions of the country will also be presented.
In the courtyard of the museum, took place a Fair of Folk Masters and visitors had the opportunity to purchase handicrafts made by weavers, tanners, potters, wood craftsmen, manufacturers of folk costumes and other artisans.
The art program was dedicated to Christmas and New Year traditions using the elements of the Winter Folk Theater. The program featured a program of carols performed by men (ceată bărbătească) - an element of our folklore, registered by the Republic of Moldova and Romania in 2013, to the UNESCO list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
