And if one noticed a leather piece of clothing on a random yet surely happiest person, the breathing became heavy and the head started to fill with worried thoughts: “Where did he get one of these, where I could get one?”
Sophisticated style and quality
Now we are moving forward from the shortages, everything is accessible, the verb “to get” sunk into oblivion, because we can easily “buy” things in a store. However, some leather pieces still excite the imagination. It is genuine, of course, about exclusive things, the bespoke ones, in particular - about the Moldovan company Trenwood. Even though leather now is not a "shortage", sophisticated style and quality are rarely seen. Accessories, shoes, cases and handbags from Trenwood combine everything – both style, and "deficient" leather.
Eduard Doncila, the Trenwood company administrator, tells about what “exclusive” is and why is it so expensive: “We are truly using unique materials. From abroad we receive crocodile skins, iguana skins, ostrich skin, which is more decorative, python skin and, naturally, goods made from these materials are really worth of that money - a pair of men's shoes can cost up to 900 euros and more. Aside from the fact that it is a rigorous and masterly handmade, the crocodile skin has its own nuances: the skins are selected by the pattern, and many customers want each shoe designs to be symmetrical. It is difficult enough to make it, and a pair of shoes may require one – two pieces of skin, which, on average, are worth of 1,500 euros. Saying, as one could notice, our products are really cheap. The same pair of shoes in a brand store would cost 5-6 thousands. We sincerely wish for our clients to have an opportunity to wear qualitative, fancy shoes, which could serve them loyally for many years. That is why each pair demands so much time and effort.
Only under the condition of each element being perfect, the model finds embodiment
Obviously, each model is exclusive. Even before creating a sketch, a process of taking the measures and production of the pads. For leather shoes to be comfortable, the pad, on the basis of which it is done, should match every curve of the foot. We have an immense bank of pads, of different sizes, shapes and kinds, each one is distinctive. One personal pad is store for a year, and after that, if the client does not make any orders anymore, the pad is recycled into a new blank. After the creation of the pad, the sketch is made, which eventually gives birth to a template. Every tiny detail, each stitch and strap should be thoroughly drawn and designed. Only under the condition of each element being perfect, the model finds embodiment. It demands colossal work, by the way. When a manufacturer has a large scale production, the laboriousness of this work is leveled, but when you are working on creating a single, matchless pair, every stitch becomes an incredible value. That is the moment when the shoemaker starts to work over the model. His job is just as valuable, as an each phase of shoe creation. The soles are also made of special leather. Such a sole shall endure much longer than any other one.
Materials we are using are not all as classy and capricious: a standard leather from cowhides are also very useful, it makes some wonderful, exclusive shoes, as well. The leather is mainly from Italy, amazingly qualitative and tender. There is also Turkish leather, but there is much less of it. Our hardware, such as buckles and rivets, is also bespoken, Italian. It was not that long ago we ordered ourselves brand belt buckles, with the logo. Earlier we also had brand buckles, handmade of a local master, but the new ones are more stylish, of a highest level. Although, the previous ones have their own charm.
Every product is more of a sole work of art
We have very different orders: from individual orders for shoes to large orders for book covers, gift boxes, upholstered in leather, with stamping. With time we gained our popularity in popularity in selected circles, so are clients are reputable and incredibly loyal. A person, who ordered our shoes once, will most certainly order again. Clients are faithful to us for years. There are some exceptional, excentric and amusing ones, there are some pretty usual, but all of them are interesting and challenging to work with.
Our manufacture had started many years ago, but it was more of a hobby, then a business of a lifetime. My colleague Sergei is the ideological inspirer of Trenwood, he is a sculptor by education and a true artist at heart. That is why exclusive orders are genuinely exclusive, that is why every product is more of a sole work of art then a piece of clothing. We are developing, expanding, perfecting, the manufacture is gaining momentum, Trenwood gets more and more of clients and orders. I have no doubts that there is a great future ahead of us.”
