The campaign aimed to promote the consumption of local fruits, continued in the village of Sipoteni, in Calarasi district. For the second year in a row we visited the producer Gheorghe Trifan and learned about Tayberries – a crossing between raspberries with blackberries.
The farmer told us about his crops, about the main problems that he faces in his business, and afterwards we had the opportunity to taste and gather the earliest variety of blackberries in Moldova. The products of Gheorghe Trifan can be found in the supermarkets Linella and Metro in Chisinau.
At the end of our trip, Gheorghe Trifan managed to sell us about 35 kg of fruit (of which 5 were ordered in advance), plus a few cans of honey made from acacia flowers, which he also produces as part of his agricultural business.
This visit was organized in partnership with project AMIB, financed by the HEKS-Moldova fund.
