As Russia banned the import of Moldovan fruits, Madein.md team decided to support domestic producers by launching a consumer-attracting campaign called „Forbidden Fruits are the Sweetest”.
It was launched in the summer of 2014 and consisted of a series of initiatives that aimed to highlight the main problems faced by Moldovan farmers after the introduction of the embargo, as well as to promote the active consumption of fruits grown in our country.
On July 21, 2014, the Russian Federation decided to ban the import of fruits and vegetables from Moldova. As a result of this embargo, the Government of the Republic of Moldova after negotiations with the European Commission, obtained the increase in quotas for Moldovan goods to the EU market. After all, in this period local agricultural producers had many difficulties in selling their products and entering new markets.
Madein.md project, which aims to promote the manufacturers and products made in Moldova, has decided to launch this campaign in order to support local farmers in accessing the final customer. Our goal was to emphasize that the Moldovan fruits are very healthy and delicious. Their regular consumption, by adults and children, contribute to the promotion of local agriculture and of a healthy lifestyle.
All these activities were described on Madein.md website, as well as on social networks in form of articles and photo reports. In addition, the campaign has been made public on other websites, blogs, various news agencies highly appreciated and supported our noble cause.
Activities carried out as part of the consumer-attracting campaign „Forbidden Fruits are the Sweetest” couldn’t make an impact on national level, however, it opened the way for a number of other important Madein.md project and initiatives in the future. Thus, in 2016, there was launched the "Fruit Road" - a large-scale campaign also aimed at promoting the consumption of agricultural products grown in Moldova..
