Vasily Adam graduated from Chisinau Art College in 1977. After completing his studies, he began painting and sculpture. Since 1986, the occupation of the artist was wood carving, 10 years later he opened a workshop in the city of Nisporeni.
The main works of the artist are religious ones, such as crucifixes, icons, crosses, iconostases, etc. Sculptures made by artist's tools are in different churches, monasteries and cathedrals in Moldova. Among the most significant works can be mentioned the ones in the architectural ensemble of St Stephen’s Monastery and Cross in Nisporeni, man-size sculptures made for the crucifixion of All Saints’ Church in Chisinau, as well as a monument to the Soldiers of the World War II erected in the Germany. Recently, the sculptor restored a historical monument - Trinity of the Tree of Life, which was relocated in the central part of Nisporeni.
The works of the sculptor can be seen in private collections of our country and art connoisseurs from the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, etc. The master works according to the traditional method of woodcarving. In addition to religious sculptures, the artist also makes - paintings, souvenirs, decorative elements for interior design, kitchen accessories and other individual works on demand.
